In JR East, platform doors are being introduced as a measure to prevent accidents such as contact with trains and accidents of falling onto railroad tracks. At Yono Station on the Keihin Tohoku Line, platform doors will be on platform 1 (northbound) on November 17, 2020 (Reiwa 2) and platform 2 (southbound) on November 18 (Wednesday). Has been installed.
The platform door installed this time is a lightweight and simplified smart platform door with the door part as a frame structure, and it is scheduled to be used from the first train on Wednesday, December 9th. At the Keihin-Tohoku Line station that runs in Saitama Prefecture, Yono is the 8th station with platform doors, and currently, Omiya is the only station that does not have platform doors. At Omiya, the same smart platform doors as Yono and Warabi are scheduled to be installed by the end of 2022 (Reiwa 4).
