“It was judged that the negligence of the agencies, such as incorrect judgment of the situation, delay in spreading the situation, poor cooperation between related agencies, and delay in relief measures, led to a large number of human casualties.”

The top line of the disaster was ended by Kim Kwang-ho, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
The special edition arrested and sent six people, including former Yongsan Police Station Chief Lee Im-jae and Park Hee-young Yongsan-gu Chief Office, and transferred 17 people, including Commissioner Kim and Yongsan Chief Fire Officer, Choi Seong-beom, to prosecute without detention.
Public Administration and Security Minister Lee Sang-min, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, National Police Agency Commissioner Yoon Hee-geun, and the Seoul Autonomous Police Committee ended the investigation without question.

“As a result of the (investigation and) legal review, it is difficult to believe that there is a breach of certain precautionary duties, such as the possibility of foreseeing the occurrence of an accident, so we intend to close the investigation. “

Fifteen public officers who were found to have misbehaved in their duties, although not criminal, notified the authorities.
On the other hand, regarding the suspicions raised through the media and social media, such as rabbit headbands and wedding masks, it was said that there was no connection with the accident.
