Mumbai: A 26-year-old teacher died after getting stuck between the doors of the school lift. The tragic incident took place at St. Mary’s English High School, Chincholi Bandar, Malad, Mumbai. According to the Mumbai Police, the incident took place on Friday afternoon.
Around one o’clock in the afternoon, Jenil Fernandes, a teacher, got on the lift to go from the sixth floor to the teachers’ room on the second floor. The lift closed as soon as the teacher stepped on it. Genil Fernandez stepped between the doors and the elevator moved up.
The school staff rushed and pulled the teacher out but she was seriously injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him dead by then. The police said that a further investigation will be carried out into the incident.
