There was a case in which a teenage son with a mental illness was killed by his 50-year-old father wielding a weapon.

The son committed the crime after the father said he would send him to a mental hospital.

Late at night, in an apartment building in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.

Paramedics run into the building, and soon a 50-year-old man with scars all over his body is pulled out on a stretcher.

The man was taken to the hospital with a bandage around his body and an oxygen mask on, and died while receiving treatment.

“The wound was so large and bleeding was so great that I had to control the amount of bleeding first, so I put pressure on hemostasis right away.

It was his teenage son who wielded a weapon at a man in his 50s.

The son was being treated for a mental illness, and it is said that he had not taken any medications recently.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for the son, believing that the son committed the crime because his son could not contain his anger after the father said that he would be admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

Previously, on the 4th of last month, in Ochang-eup, Cheongju, a son in his 20s killed his mother in his 60s, whom he was arguing with over a nagging issue, with a blunt tool. Continuing crimes continue, such as being arrested for swinging a weapon for money.

As the concept of family disappears, I begin to perceive (family) as a different person, and when it is accepted that others interfere, control, and oppress me … That’s what happens as an exercise of physical force and an exercise of tangible force.

Of the 308 homicides in 2020, about 10%, or 28, occurred against a survivor.
