With this home run, Jersey became the third Yankees player to hit 60 or more home runs in a season, after Roger Maris and Babe Ruth. He also tied the so-called ‘drug-free home run record’ set by Maris in 1961 with one car.

He also maintained the league lead in batting average and RBI, and his first triple crown in hitting since Miguel Cabrera in 2012.

It was a meaningful home run for the team. The Yankees, who played a helpless 4-8 game until the start of the ninth, pulled off a dramatic 9-8 comeback victory with Zhankalo Stanton’s failed bases-loaded home run following the ninth-inning home run.
