[뉴스토마토 박창욱 기자] Aaron Judge (30, New York Yankees) finally set the record for most home runs in one season in the American League (AL). He also holds the record for most home runs as a clean hitter.

In the first inning of Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, USA on the 5th (local time), Judge Jersey hit the slider from starting pitcher Jesús Tinoco and jumped over the left field fence to recorded his 62nd home run of the season.

It was the first home run in six days since the Toronto Blue Jays on the 29th of last month.

With this, Jersey broke the record for most home runs (61) set by Roger Maris of the Yankees in 1961, setting the AL record for most home runs.

Six players have hit 60 or more home runs in MLB history. In the AL, Babe Ruth (60 homers), Roger Marys (61 homers), and Aaron Judge (62 homers) all belong to the Yankees.

In the National League (NL), Barry Bonds (73), Mark Maguire (70, 65), and Sammy Sosa (66, 64, 63) surpassed the 60 home run mark, but all three players had their suspicions of taking drugs desired for the light

As a result, Judge became the player with the most home runs in MLB as a ‘clean’ hitter with no drug allegations.
