The family of the late singer Abdel Halim Hafez intends to take urgent legal action against an individual active on social media who calls himself “The White Nightingale.” They consider his actions a direct insult to the legacy of one of the most prominent singing icons in Egypt adn the Arab world.
The family affirmed that the use of this title, alongside satirical and offensive content, constitutes an unacceptable transgression against the artistic and human heritage of Abdel Halim Hafez, known as “The Brown Nightingale,” who continues to represent a firmly established cultural and artistic value in the Arab consciousness.
In this context, Mohamed Shabanah (nephew of the late artist) explained that the individual in question has persistently mocked and ridiculed Abdel Halim Hafez across social media platforms, despite being given more than one opportunity to cease this behavior.
Shabanah indicated that the family decided to take legal action after these actions continued, confirming that any abuse of Abdel Halim Hafez’s name or history will not go unanswered, as it is considered an affront to the dignity of an artist who formed part of Egypt’s artistic identity.
