New Delhi: Actor Dileep has withdrawn a petition filed in the Supreme Court seeking his acquittal in the case of assault on the actress.
The petition was withdrawn after the trial of the case was completed.
The Kerala High Court had rejected Dileep’s plea seeking his acquittal. Dileep approached the Supreme Court against that. Dileep had said in the petition that he was a victim in the case and that he was trapped by the citation team. A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwheelkar today dismissed Dileep’s plea.

Kozhikode: A young man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire in front of the Thikkodi panchayat office in Kozhikode. The victim was a temporary employee of the Thikkodi panchayat office.
The incident took place at 9.50 am today. The young man set fire to the gate before the woman could enter the office. He then set himself on fire. (Read more ..)
