Mumbai: Veteran actor Javed Khan Amrohi has passed away. Films like Lagaan, Chakde India and Doordarshan series Nukkad made Javed Khan more famous. He was being treated for a respiratory illness.
Javed, who was struggling to breathe, was unconscious for almost a year. Filmmaker Ramesh Talwar told news agency PTI that he died at a nursing home in Mumbai around 1pm. He was an active member of the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA).
After graduating from FTII, Pune, Javed worked in plays and appeared in 150 films in small but crucial roles. He also took part in a dozen television shows.
