Actor Dileep has appeared before the probe team in the case of attacking the actress. Dileep Dileep was present at the Aluva Police Club for questioning. The interrogation was led by Crime Branch Chief S Sreejith. The interrogation comes two and a half months after the investigation began.
Statements and other evidence of the accused and witnesses have been accepted. Dileep had sent a notice to appear before the Crime Branch on Thursday but was told he was inconvenienced. The interrogation was then extended.
The crime branch had yesterday said that it had received documents including some WhatsApp messages deleted from Dileep’s phone. Cyber expert Sai Shankar has said that Dileep wanted the documents to be destroyed beyond recovery. The court had earlier granted bail to Sai Shankar.

The crime branch said it had lost some crucial documents to recover from the phone. Indications are that some of these documents are currently being received. The accused alleged that the phones were shifted to a lab in Mumbai, though the crime branch had asked for Dileep’s phones. With the help of experts, the crime branch collected crucial information from the phones which were believed to have been destroyed. Dileep is being questioned today on the basis of these. The crime branch had questioned the staff and director of the lab on the basis of information that the information on all the four phones sent to Mumbai had been deleted.
