Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has said that the Congress office bearers from the state level to the lower echelons will be given assignments for six months and the non-performing office bearers will be removed from their posts on the basis of the report. The committees will evaluate the activities of the office bearers and report to the KPCC leadership. There will be a district level disciplinary committee to take action at the district level. Complainants can file a complaint to the State Committee. Sudhakaran was speaking at a press conference after the DCC Presidents’ Workshop at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies.
It was decided at the workshop to give more representation to women in party positions. A constituency committee in the Assembly constituency will be reserved for women. It was also decided to crack down on indiscipline, a major problem facing the party. Action will be taken against those who insult the party in the media and in public. If group meetings are called and attempts are made to dispute unity, they will be taken seriously and action will be taken. K. Sudhakaran said that for the party to survive, discipline is needed and leaders and workers should be prepared for this.
The party leadership imposed restrictions on flex boards put up by activists in their own names. Sudhakaran said leadership should come from the people and not from Flux. Flux containing the image of leaders can be placed for party events. However, placing a larger photo of the person holding the flux than the leaders will create a bad image among the public.
No more than one seat at a time will be allowed in the party. The rule will be brought to those in power in the co-operative sector and local bodies. Candidates in the co-operative sector will be decided by the Co-operative Control Cell. Two terms will be allowed only when absolutely necessary. This committee will make appointments in the co-operative sector and advise on the work.
There will be a committee to evaluate the work of the people’s representatives in the local bodies and to correct the mistakes. Rules will be introduced for party conventions, rallies, public meetings and press conferences. Only preachers will be present.
