Doosan’s Doosan professional baseball player Yu Hee-gwan, who dominated an era with his slow fastball, announced his sudden retirement.
Yoo Hee-kwan is a pitcher who realized the ‘aesthetic of slowness’ while throwing a slow fastball with an average speed of less than 130 km/h, while playing tricks on batters with exquisite control.
He played 11 seasons at Doosan alone and won 101 of his career, but he chose to retire at the age of 36 after showing a sluggish run last year with only 4 wins and a 7-point ERA.
