Mumbai: A Muslim spiritual leader with Afghan connections was killed in Maharashtra. Khwaja Syed Chisti (35) was killed in Yola town of Nashik district. Police said that an unidentified group of four was firing at Chisti. News agency PTI reported that the motive for the murder is not clear.

The attack took place on Tuesday evening in the MIDC area of ​​Yola city, 200 km from Mumbai. Chisti is popularly known as ‘Sufi Baba’. Chisti was shot in the forehead and died on the spot. Sufi Baba is a citizen of Afghanistan. After the shooting, the attackers captured his SUV. The police said that they have intensified their search for the accused.
