Afghan female college student should cover everything except the eyes… Taliban Announces Education Regulations

The Taliban, which has taken over Afghanistan, has announced education regulations regulating the dress and class methods of female college students, AFP news agency reported on the 5th local time.

According to reports, the day before, Taliban education authorities ordered women attending private Afghan universities to wear abayas and niqabs that cover their entire face except for the eyes, based on new regulations.

The abaya worn by women in many areas of the Islamic world is a long, black robe that covers the face from the neck to the toes.

The Taliban made classes separate by gender, and if circumstances were not favorable, at least a curtain was put on to separate male and female students.

In addition, female students were instructed to take classes only from female teachers, and if it was difficult to secure female teachers, they were replaced with older males with experience in the church.

At the same time, girls were required to stay in the classroom after class until boys left school, and they were ordered to use different entrances for different genders.

The decree applies to private universities, which have surged since 2001, when the first Taliban rule in Afghanistan ended.

A university professor, who requested anonymity, told AFP, “We don’t have enough female teachers or classroom space, so the Taliban’s announcement is a realistically difficult plan.” “He said.
