Afghanistan beat Namibia by 62 to advance to the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup. He finished second in the second group with four points with two wins from three games. Pakistan are top with six points with three wins.
The Afghan pacers scored an easy victory. Naveen-ul-Haq, who took three wickets for 17 runs in three overs, was the man of the match. Hamid Hasan took three wickets in four overs and conceded nine runs. Gulbadin Naib has two wickets. Spinner Rashid Khan took one wicket. Score: Afghanistan 5–-160, Namibia 9–-98.
The Afghan won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad scored 45 runs. Hazrat Zazai (33) and Asghar Afghan (31) provided support. Captain Muhammad Nabi remained unbeaten on 31 off 17 balls. Namibia never batted for victory. David Weiss was the top scorer with 26 runs. This is Namibia’s second defeat.
