Ahead of the opening of the Olympics, Beijing also introduced Omicron… quarantine red light

On the 15th, 20 days before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, a confirmed case of Corona 19 micron mutation was confirmed in Beijing.

At a press conference held on the afternoon of the same day, Beijing municipal authorities announced that a resident of Haidian District had been confirmed to have been infected with Omicron.

The influx of Omicron into Beijing also turned on the red light for Olympic quarantine.

The city of Beijing explained that the infected person had not left Beijing or had close contact with a confirmed person within the past 14 days.

The two people living with the confirmed person have tested negative for nucleic acid, Beijing added.

The quarantine authorities are locking down the building where the confirmed person lives, and are conducting nucleic acid testing by collecting samples from 2,430 nearby residents.

In addition, 15 close contacts are controlled and managed.

The quarantine authorities have not yet announced the exact results of the investigation on the path of Omicron’s entry.

Quarantine authorities have raised the level of quarantine by suspending most trains from Tianjin to Beijing and recommending refraining from commuting between the two cities after the Omicron outbreak on the 8th in Tianjin, which is about 110 km away from Beijing.
