Ahn Cheol-soo, the presidential candidate of the People’s Party, made a claim that the entertainment program he had planned to host with a broadcasting company was unilaterally withdrawn.
While the program is known as TV Chosun’s ‘Wakanam’, TV Chosun and the production team of Wakanam do not take a special position. Wakanam is also a program in which Rep. Hong Jun-pyo, who participated in the People’s Power presidential primary in September, appeared.
Candidate Ahn wrote on his Facebook on the 28th, “I received a request to appear in an entertainment program of a certain broadcasting company and gladly accepted it.” “I thought I could honestly show my real life.”

Candidate Ahn said, “However, on Thursday night, I was suddenly notified of cancellation.
He continued, “I know that broadcasting companies make careful decisions about the selection of presidential candidates,” he said. “I’ve never heard of a regular program being canceled a day before, or even canceling a planned and promised filming without finalizing it. ” he pointed out.
Candidate Ahn made a remark related to this at the ‘DMZ (Dream MZ) Book Concert’ held in Gwangju on the same day.
Candidate Ahn said, “During this presidential election phase, I have never appeared on a variety show until now, but the other candidates did not.”
Candidate Ahn explained that he left a Facebook post for those who had an appointment because it was filmed while canceling an already scheduled schedule in relation to the disclosure of related content.
Candidate Ahn said, “There are only 100 days left before the election, so every day is very important. I had eight appointments on Saturday. I also asked for your understanding and canceled the appointment. They also suffered damage.”
TV Chosun and Wakanam’s side did not take a special position. In particular, the TV Chosun public relations team said that they only confirmed through articles regarding Ahn’s remarks regarding the abolition of Wakanam, but were not aware of anything.
An official from TV Chosun’s PR team replied only, “I know that it is responding from the level of the production team” in a call with Media Today. Seo Hye-jin, head of TV Chosun’s production division, also said, “I have nothing to tell you.”
It is known that no official position from TV Chosun or the production team has been communicated to Candidate Ahn yet.
A total of 11 posts were posted on the Wakanam homepage viewers’ bulletin board on the 28th and 29th, including unpublished posts. Of these, eight public posts are protest articles related to candidate Ahn’s remarks. Wakanam, which started in June, had only 68 posts on the viewer’s bulletin board until the 27th.
