AIDA Cruises has announced a significant itinerary shift for the AIDAprima, redirecting the ship from a planned winter season in the Middle East to a series of cruises across Europe and the Canary Islands for the winter of 2026-27.
The company revealed in a press release that the original plan to operate in the Middle East was cancelled in mid-March due to the security situation in that region. The AIDAprima will now operate from Kiel, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife during the fall and winter of 2026-27.
Winter 2026-27 Itinerary Details
The revised schedule begins in October and November 2026 with seven-day cruises starting from Hamburg to the Canary Islands. These initial voyages will combine the Canary Islands with Agadir in Morocco or the Portuguese island of Madeira.

The AIDAprima will remain based in the Canary Islands until November 28, 2026, at which point the vessel will reposition to its central winter homeport in Kiel.
From December 19, 2026, the ship will depart from Kiel for a short cruise to pre-Christmas Scandinavia. This will be followed by a Christmas holiday cruise in the Baltic Sea, featuring port calls in Helsinki, Tallinn, and Riga.
The New Year’s celebrations for 2026-27 will take place during a cruise to Scandinavia, with the itinerary including stops in Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Oslo.
Early 2027 Voyages and Seasonal Highlights
In January 2027, the ship will operate a 24-day voyage titled Grand Winter Break Canary Islands from Kiel
, which is designed to allow German guests to visit the Canary Islands without the need for air travel.
The focus for February and March 2027 will shift toward the Norwegian fjords and classic destinations within the Baltic Sea. A specific highlight of this period is a nine-day cruise departing on March 7, 2027, which will visit Oslo during the Holmenkollen Ski Festival.
The AIDAprima will continue to operate cruises to the Baltic Sea and Scandinavia, departing from and returning to Kiel, until the end of April 2027.
Following the conclusion of the Kiel-based rotations, the ship will relocate to Hamburg. The final sailing of the winter season is scheduled to depart on May 9, 2027.
Operational Structure
With Kiel serving as the primary winter hub, the AIDAprima will offer a variety of cruise durations ranging from four to 11 days. The company has noted that these shorter voyages can be combined by passengers to create longer journeys.
