AirPods Pro popping issue Apple extends the warranty period for the issue to 3 years

Some AirPods Pro headphones were found to have “sound problems” in October 2020. And Apple recently updated the warranty period of AirPods Pro regarding this sound problem to 3 years from the date of purchase of the device.

Apple confirmed the existence of the problem at the end of October 2020. The affected device will be produced before October 2020. The affected AirPods Pro may have one or more of the following conditions:

  • Crackling or interference noise, which will increase in noisy environments, sports or calls
  • The “Active Noise Cancellation” function works abnormally, for example: unable to produce bass, or background sound (for example: noise on the street or airplane) increases

For questions, Apple or an Apple authorized repair center will repair the affected AirPods Pro (left, right or both sides) free of charge. Note that because this problem does not affect the charging box, the repair does not include the charging box, and there is no replacement of the charging box. Recently, Apple has provided more protection for the affected AirPods Pro, and the validity period is 3 years from the date of the first retail sale of the device. Please note that this protection plan will not extend the standard warranty coverage of AirPods Pro. For the original text, please refer to the official website.
