Doha: Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has dedicated the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, the kickoff venue of the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup, to the nation. The stadium was dedicated to the nation by inaugurating the first FIFA Pan Arab Cup tournament.
The Arab Cup and stadium were inaugurated in the presence of tens of thousands of football fans, governors of various countries and official representatives, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The inauguration was accompanied by the singing of the national anthems of the 16 countries participating in the Arab Cup.
The inaugural function was graced by cultural events and colorful fireworks displays reflecting Arab culture and heritage. The match between Qatar and Bahrain was the highlight of the football match at the stadium. The 60,000-seat stadium will also host the Arab Cup final.
