Cairo: Al-Qaeda claims Ayman al-Zawahiri was not killed. Al-Qaeda’s argument is by releasing the video in Sahawiri’s name. The United States announced that al-Zawahiri was killed in an air strike in July 2022. Al-Qaeda has released a 35-minute long video of Sawahiri months ago.
But there is no information about where or when this video was shot. That’s why America claims the video is fake. Zawahiri, who was hiding in Afghanistan, was killed by a drone strike on July 31. The killing of Zawahiri was considered one of the biggest airstrikes carried out by the United States since the killing of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden in 2011 .
The United States has been trying to find Zawahiri, who has been in hiding for years. Zawahiri was a terrorist on America’s hit list. The United States had also offered $10 million to help capture him. Zawahiri was one of the masterminds behind the 1998 embassy bombings and the September 11 attacks.
