The star was very popular with his Avicii collaboration, Wake Me Up, and candidates asked a DJ label to sing on S.S. the tragic dance music album, TIM.
Aloe Blacc understands that if the lyrics were shown quickly, if anyone had noticed what his friend had written, they could get the help he wanted before he took his own life in April, 2018 .
"I got the lyrics from the record label and I looked at them and I thought, 'How do I get this S.O.S this as a song after Tim disappeared,' ' he says with Good Morning America. "He felt … we all wanted to have this message already, so we could support him.
"He wrote in his notes that I wanted to sing this song, but it never told me. He put other things by e-mail and text messages …"
Aloe Blacc was encouraged by his DJ PAL to ask for him, which was among the new music that Avicii sent to his producers before his death.
"I was delighted with the way he could create melodies instantly and find sonic productions and landscapes and he was very impressed with my voice …" he said. "I think I knew this song that I was able to attack it and complete what I was looking for. I am glad I got the chance to do that."
