Scuderia AlphaTauri has announced that Basso Bikes will join the team as official bike supplier. Led by Alcido Basso, the company has been manufacturing bicycles in Vicenza, Italy since 1977 and is still a family business. One of three brothers, Marino Basso has racing in his blood, having won major Grand Tour stage cycling races and been crowned the 1972 road racing world champion.

“Ride, Perfected” is the motto of Basso Bikes mission to provide the best riding experience for passionate cyclists. Like its F1 cars, it builds bikes that share the same philosophy as cars: weight reduction and aerodynamics are key performance factors, and carbon fiber components are produced in-house. Basso now offers a wide range of bikes, including gravel and e-bikes, as well as road racing. Basso will provide racing bikes to Yuki Tsunoda and Nick de Vries as part of their fitness training programme, and staff the team with road and gravel E-bikes across the European racing calendar. The racing bike features a striking color with the appearance of AT04 as a motif. Fabian Bravets, Marketing and Communications Director of Scuderia AlphaTauri, said: “Basso is a brand that stands for Italian authenticity. Performance, strength and elegance are the unmistakable characteristics of Basso bikes. One is a rare “Made in Italy” product, which is why Bass is the perfect partner for the Scuderia AlphaTauri. We Basso team of the two manufacturers, representing the Italian tradition in the Formula 1 paddock. “As a lover of technology and innovation who grew up surrounded by mechanics and carbon fiber, F1 represents the pinnacle of engineering development,” says Leonardo Basso, Basso Bikes Marketing Manager.
