Franz Tost, Scuderia AlphaTauri’s F1 team representative, confirmed Pierre Guthrie’s team drive in 2023, ending speculation about the future.
Pierre Guthrie has been with AlphaTauri (Toro Rosso) for the entire period except the 12 races he was in Red Bull Racing in 2019.

However, prior to Saturday’s action at the F1 Canadian Grand Prix, Franz Tost said Pierre Guthrie was “100% confirmed” to be in control of Scuderia AlphaTauri in the 2023 season as well.
“He (Guthrie) will be the driver of Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2023,” Franz Tost said.

Pierre Guthrie finished fifth in the race in Baku last weekend. This was Guthrie’s top 10 finish since the Australian Grand Prix.
But Franz Tost believes the lack of points this season is due to reliability issues, and Scuderia AlphaTauri does a better job of giving Pierre Guthrie a car to get closer to the front line of the grid. He said he had to do it.
