Jody Egginton, Technical Director of AlphaTauri Honda F1, looks back on the 2021 F1 US Grand Prix final race.
In AlphaTauri Honda F1, Yuki Tsunoda, who started with soft tires from the 10th grid, finished in 9th place and scored 2 points. Pierre Guthrie retired due to a suspension failure shortly after changing tires.
“Today, Yuuki has achieved a fantastic finish that deserves points,” commented Jody Egginton.
“I used the soft tires well until the first stint, and after that, I maintained the position and scored points with the hard set, and the race went well.”
“Unfortunately, Pierre apparently had a suspension problem that forced him to retire. This needs to be reliably grasped and resolved by the next race. Unfortunately, Pierre and the team Has lost an important point. “
“Overall, the package was performing well in Austin, so our goal now is to continue this form and be able to finish fifth in the Constructors’ Championship.”
