I bought a new smart speaker “Echo Pop” released by Amazon. The unique hemispherical design is the point, and the price is 5,980 yen (tax included). Its compact size makes it cute not only for desks, but also for bedrooms and kitchens.
There are four main body colors: lavender, teal green, charcoal, and glacier white.
I liked the stylish colors not found in the Echo series that had been released so far.
The main unit has a volume button and a microphone on/off button. Since it will be a very simple speaker, the basics are voice operations using Alexa, and others are operations using the app.
If you already have an Amazon account and checked “Easy setup” and bought it, it was convenient to be able to use Echo Pop as soon as you started it. The body information is also registered in the app. Initial settings and detailed settings can be made here.
The power supply uses a dedicated adapter. If this was a USB-C terminal, it would be nice to be able to use it around the desk.
I listened to music and tried to use this and that. In terms of sound quality, the sound quality was flat and easy to listen to, although it had less bass than the “Echo Dot (4th generation)” I used before. However, the Echo Pop has a fixed direction where the sound can be heard, so unlike the Echo Dot, it doesn’t feel like you can enjoy good sound anywhere.
So, I had to think about where to put it and where I was always. Anyway, the sound quality is clear and nice, and it’s the cheapest smart speaker in the Echo series currently on sale, so it’s recommended for those who want a cheap and cute smart speaker.
Also, since it will be an Amazon device, there is a high possibility that it will be much cheaper in a future auction. If you think 5,980 yen is too expensive, you can wait half a year and buy it on sale. Well then! again!
