Doosan Energy is going to secure ammonia cracking technology directly involved in hydrogen combined cycle power generation. Ammonia cracking is a technology that produces hydrogen by decomposing ammonia at high temperatures.
Doosan Enerability announced on the 1st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with British ammonia cracking solution company Johnson Mattey (JM) at its headquarters in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, for cooperation in the ammonia cracking business.
JM will provide ammonia cracking process design technology and catalysts, and Doosan Enervity will provide the technology necessary for the project, such as detailed design of the ammonia cracker process, manufacturing and construction of equipment and materials.
In addition, the two companies plan to jointly develop an integrated design technology between the ammonia cracking process and the hydrogen combined cycle power plant and apply it to the hydrogen combined cycle power plant.
