A significant increase in the number of building permits issued in various municipalities in Qatar. This shows the excellence of the construction sector’s performance. There was a 37 per cent increase in the number of licenses issued in January compared to December. According to figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority, 721 new licenses were issued in January.
In January, 192 licenses were issued for new residential buildings, 83 for non-residential buildings, 423 for additions to buildings and 23 for fences. Construction completion certificates were issued for 162 villas, 16 flats, 42 commercial buildings, 5 government buildings and 11 industrial buildings. These are the municipalities that saw an increase in issuing licenses in January over December.
