When charging using a 3A cable, it was pointed out that 100W output was detected, although it is normally limited to 60W output.

This product has obtained the legally required PSE certification, is compatible with the USB Power Delivery (hereinafter referred to as USB PD) defined by USB-IF, and is used for normal use such as charging a PC. This event is not reproducible and can be used safely.

In a normal usage environment such as charging a PC, if the sink side (device side such as a PC) requires a current exceeding 3A, check the presence or absence of the eMarker of the cable connected to the source side (charger side). Sends the range of current that can be supplied to the sink side. The sink side determines the optimum load current within that range. However, under a special environment using an electronic load device, the sink side (electronic load device) ignores the current range and forcibly requests a current exceeding the specification, so that from this product on the source side. It is theoretically possible to draw a current of 5A.

Based on the above, there is generally no risk of overcurrent when customers charge devices such as PCs with this product, and this product has a legally required overcurrent protection function and is safe. Can be used for. In addition, we have not received any accident reports from our customers at this time, and we are not legally required to do so, but considering that this event can be reproduced in the above special environment, from today onwards. In order to use this product manufactured in Japan more safely, we have updated the specifications so that even if the connected cable does not support eMarker, the source side can also control it.
