Anna Lin and Choi Hye-jin, LPGA Tour Q Series 7R also ranked high… ‘Book to USA’

Anna Lin (25) and Choi Hye-jin (22) have virtually confirmed their entry into the U.S. Women’s Professional Golf (LPGA) tour for the 2022 season.

Anna Lin hit a 2-under 70 with 5 birdies, 1 bogey, and 1 double bogey in Round 7 of the 2021 LPGA Qualifying Series held at the Highlands Oaks Golf Course (par 72) in Doseon, Alabama, USA on the 12th (Korean time).

Anna Lin, who recorded a total of 27 under par 475 in 7 rounds, started the final round in second place behind Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (France).

Roussin-Bouchard is the solo leader with a 32-under 470 shot, five shots ahead of Annalin. Third place is Ataya Titikun (Thailand) with a 23-under 279 shot, 4 shots behind Anna Lin.

Hyejin Choi recorded a 3-over-par 75 with two birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey that day, for a total of 16-under-par 486 in seven rounds. The ranking is tied for 5th.

In the LPGA Tour Qualifying Series, the top 45 players by adding up their eight rounds are eligible to participate on the LPGA Tour for the 2022 season.

If they are in the top 20, they will be able to participate in almost all competitions in the 2022 season.

With one round left, Anna Lin and Choi Hye-jin are most likely to be in the top 20 unless there is a big change, so they have effectively booked their entry into the LPGA Tour for the 2022 season.

Until the 7th round, 4 players tied for 18th are 10 under par, so there is a difference of 17 strokes with Anna Lin and 6 strokes with Hyejin Choi.

Anna Lin has two career victories on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour and is ranked 7th in points and 9th in prize money for the 2021 season.

At the LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship held in Busan in October of this year, she tied for 3rd and gained confidence that she could do well in the United States.

Hyejin Choi has won 10 wins, including 2 wins, during her amateur career on the KLPGA Tour, and is a player who achieved 3 consecutive victories from 2018 to 2020.

She made a strong impression when she finished runner-up at the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open when she was an amateur.

Yeeun Hong (19) also tied for 14th with a 12-under 490 shot, inflating the possibility of entering the top ranks.

Park Geum-kang (20) is tied for 49th with a 3-under 499 stroke, but he has to raise his ranking in the 8th round because he is one stroke away from the tie for 44th, which is the qualification cut line for the 2022 season.

Yeeun Hong and Geumgang Park were active on the Symmetra Tour, the second part of the LPGA Tour this year.
