The group announced on the 5th a compensation plan for business partners, etc., in relation to the fire at the Hyundai Premium Outlet Daejeon branch that occurred on the 26th of last month.

In the Daejeon Hyundai Premium Outlet branch, there are 265 stores including 160 stores run by small business owners.

Hyundai Department Store Group plans to provide emergency cash to around 1,000 people, including middle managers and salespeople, from partner brands whose business has been halted due to fire. It was decided to pay 3.5 million earned to the middle management manager and 2.5 million to the general salesperson.

It also provides early payment to partner companies that have difficulty managing money due to business suspension. It has decided to pay about 25 billion earned in September payment to 300 partner companies doing business with Daejeon, up to 24 days earlier than the original payment date.

In the case of subcontractors such as facilities, beauty and security, the entire contract fee is paid until the business of the Daejeon branch is normalized so that there are no problems with fund management such as salary payment. In addition, additional support measures are being considered for contractor workers.

Hyundai Department Store Group also plans to carry out compensation procedures for a list of partner companies that have become difficult to sell due to fire. It also plans to implement an emergency interest-free loan for small and medium business partners.

We intend to do our best to minimize the damage to the employees of partner companies by preparing additional support measures in the future.” “Once again, I would like to apologize to everyone affected by this accident.”

The fire that happened on the 26th of last month resulted in 8 injuries, and 6 out of 7 victims have been killed so far. The family of one victim is said to be postponing the funeral for reasons such as determining the cause.
