Another 1,489 people in the UAE, Kovid, one death

Abu Dhabi: More than a thousand Kovid cases are reported daily in the UAE. According to official figures released by the Ministry of Health, Kovid has been confirmed in 1,489 people in the country today.

In the last 24 hours, 1,568 Kovid patients treated in the country have recovered. Today, another Kovid death was confirmed. A total of 3,24,266 Kovid tests were conducted in the country to identify new patients. A total of 9,27,387 people have been diagnosed with the Kovid virus in the UAE so far. Of these, 9,08,145 have already been cured. A total of 2,309 people died of Kovid in the country. Currently, 16,933 Kovid patients are being treated in the UAE.

Dubai: Nearly half of all companies in the UAE are reportedly preparing for a pay rise this year. According to a survey conducted by professional services firm Aeon, many companies have already made the necessary adjustments in their companies’ annual budgets to pay higher salaries to their employees, including factors such as inflation and competition in the labor market.

The company has published the results of a survey of 150 companies operating in various sectors in the UAE. The data was collected from companies in the country during the first two weeks of June. Forty-nine percent of companies surveyed have set aside money in their annual budgets to bring in pay rises this time around.

Seventy-five percent of companies surveyed admitted that they face pressures, including pay rises, to retain their best employees and attract better human resources. According to the survey, 49 per cent of companies are planning to bring in a pay rise this year, while 14 per cent are considering another pay rise in the second half of this year.

According to the companies, this time around, there will be more increases at the junior and middle management levels than at the top. At the same time, 75 per cent of companies said they would implement the pay rise at different rates at different levels. The main reason for the increase in salaries is the pressure exerted by the companies to retain and attract talented employees in the market.

About 15 per cent of companies are implementing pay rises with the aim of achieving a level of pay that is commensurate with market rates. While 27 per cent of companies said employees were leaving their jobs because of low wages, 23 per cent said they needed to raise wages in line with rising inflation.
