RIYADH> Anoud Al Asmari has made history by becoming the first Saudi woman to receive a FIFA international referee badge. Asmari began her sporting career in 2018 by officiating a series of matches in the Saudi Women’s League.

Anoud Al Asmari said, “I am happy to be the first Saudi female referee in the history of Saudi sports to win an international badge.” At this time, the first division games in Saudi Arabia were being managed. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAF) announced a list of eight referees, nine assistant referees, six video referees and one hall referee.
