Following the archery player Ansan’s short haircut, the controversy over ‘radical feminism’ continues even to Ha Ji-won, who is active as a cheerleader. In this regard, Korea University professor Lee Han-sang from the former Jeju governor Won Hee-ryong, the presidential candidate for the power of the people, strongly criticized it.

Previously, Ha Ji-won shared malicious comments towards herself on Instagram and apologized, saying, “I have nothing to do with Femi. I didn’t realize that my actions could cause misunderstandings to someone.” Looking at the comments posted by Ha Ji-won, a male netizen sarcastically said, “You’re a feminist, but it must be hard to dance in front of a Hannam (a word that demeans Korean men).”

Ha Ji-won said, “The reason I did the short cut was because my hair was damaged due to frequent dyeing, and I tried the style I wanted to try during the hiatus from sports. After that, I never used it.”

Professor Lee Han-sang said on his Facebook on the 21st, “I don’t know why you’re meddling whether you shave your hair or dye your hair blonde. Please do it in moderation.” What’s different from radical Muslims? Go to Afghanistan instead of in Seoul and become the Taliban.”

Earlier, Ansan, a player from the Korean women’s archery team, was also caught up in controversy over ‘femie’ due to her short-cut style. Some online communities slandered Ansan, saying, “I have both short cuts and feminist conditions in women’s colleges. Am I strange that I think this way” and “more than 90% of women’s college short cuts are feminine”.

Afterwards, female netizens faced off with a ‘female_shortcut_campaign’ on SNS (social networking service). Celebrities such as Justice Party lawmaker Ryu Ho-jeong and actress Ku Hye-sun have also supported Ansan players by releasing short cut photos of themselves.
