Mayor Yoon Hwa-seop visited Geumseong NC the day before and requested that urea water be supplied to the region first in order to prevent a disruption in public transportation and logistics due to the shortage of urea water.
Goldstar NC, the second largest producer of urea water in Korea, was producing about 150 tons of urea water per day.
Ansan City plans to distribute 200 tons of urea water to the public transportation and cargo industries when it receives 200 tons of urea from Goldstar NC in the near future.
200 tons of urea is enough for about 3,000 vehicles, including buses, trucks, and construction machines, to use for about a month.
To this end, the city is currently investigating the current status of vehicles using urea water and the status of possession of the industry.
Of the 16,234 buses, trucks, and construction machinery in Ansan, 7,745 (47.7%), nearly half, were identified as vehicles requiring urea water.
Mayor Yoon said, “We will actively respond so that urea water can be supplied first to areas that are urgently needed.” said.
