Thiruvananthapuram | Opposition parties, including the Congress, the Muslim League and the Jamaat-e-Islami, have joined hands with the BJP in the proposed anti-Silver Line high-speed rail strike. Opposition leaders VD Satheesan, Kodikunnil Suresh MP, Muslim League leaders PK Kunhalikutty and Syed Sadiqali Shihab were among those who joined the march at the Secretariat organized by the State K Rail Silver Line People’s Committee.

Criticizing the government, Mar Curillos accused the government of going ahead with the project only in the interest of looting. Opposition leader VD Satheesan said the project would cost at least Rs 2 lakh crore and the debt could not be repaid even if the whole of Kerala was sold. State Anti-Rail-Silver Line People’s Committee Patron K Saiva Prasad administered the anti-Silver Line Pledge.
