FC Anyang defeated Bucheon FC 4-1 in the final 36 round home match of Hana One Q K League 2 2021 held at Anyang Sports Complex on the 31st. Anyang, which recorded 62 points from 17 wins, 11 draws, 8 losses, finished second in the K League 2, the best performance in the club’s history.
Director Kim Cheon confirmed the K League 2 championship early. While Kimcheon went straight to K League 1, Anyang headed to the K League 2 playoffs. In K-League 2, 3rd and 4th places play a semi-play-off match, and the winner proceeds with the 2nd place play-off. The winner of the play-off will play a relegation play-off with the 11th placed team in K League 1. If both the semi-playoffs and playoffs end in a 90-minute draw, the top team advances to the next stage.
Anyang advanced to the playoffs through the semi-playoffs with a result of 3rd place in the K League 2 in 2019, but did not advance to the relegation playoffs.
3rd and 4th place were confirmed by Daejeon Hana Citizen and Jeonnam Dragons. As a result, Daejeon and Jeonnam will play a semi-playoff match at home on November 3rd. The winner will compete with 2nd place Anyang on November 7th at Anyang Home for a ticket to the relegation play-off.
