Deadly explosion at munitions factory

An explosion has occurred in a Turkish ammunition factory. Five employees were killed.
An explosion has occurred at the MKE explosives factory in the Turkish capital Ankara. Five company employees were killed in the incident at around 8:40 a.m. local time. The extinguishing and rescue work continues.
According to reports from Turkish media, the company produces grenades and explosives for the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense of Turkey at the site in the Elmadağ district. Also chemicals for dynamite should be part of the production.
Ankara’s governor Vasip Şahin said the explosion at the factory was caused by a chemical reaction. The Turkish Defense Ministry announced that it would launch a “judicial and administrative investigation into the incident”.
