Apple Music bug reveals other people’s playlists

Foreign media such as MacRumors reported on the 22nd (local time) that a strange bug in the ‘Apple Music’ app, which is Apple’s music streaming service, displays other people’s playlists in the library.

Several users have reportedly complained via online communities such as Reddit that they are seeing strange playlists that the app cannot recognize. Some say that playlists have been merged with existing playlists, and user playlists are missing or replaced by unrecognized playlists.

Some users are worried that their Apple account has been hacked, but foreign media reported that the cause of this problem is likely to be a problem with Apple’s iCloud server.

The issue only affects the Music app for iPhone, and the Music app for macOS is said to be unaffected. In addition, as first reported in mid-February, there is also an analysis that may be related to the release of iOS 16.3.1, which includes iCloud bug fixes.

Apple has yet to issue an official statement on the Apple Music bug.
