Apple released ‘iOS 16.3’, ‘iPadOS 16.3’ and ‘macOS Ventura 13.2’ on January 23, 2023. Applying the update will allow you to use enhanced data protection and use a physical key when signing in with your Apple ID.

・ Advanced data protection for iCloud
Advanced data protection functions have been added to the “iCloud” cloud service provided by Apple. As a result, a total of 23 types of data, including iCloud backups, memos, and photos, are protected with end-to-end encryption, making it possible to protect information even if cloud data leaks.
・ Security key for Apple ID
You can now use FIDO-compliant physical keys when signing in with your Apple ID. The procedure for setting the security key on the iPhone is as follows.
First, launch the Settings app and tap the search bar at the top.
Search for and tap Password and Security.
Then tap “Add security key”.
Now you can register your security key. However, two security keys are required, including one for backup.
