On the 10th (local time), Apple released new firmware for ▲ 1st generation AirPods Pro ▲ 2nd generation AirPods ▲ 3rd generation AirPods ▲ AirPods Max.
Installing the newly released firmware upgrades the existing 4E71 to the 5B58 version. Apple released the same version of the firmware for the second generation AirPods Pro earlier this week.
Apple did not mention any firmware improvements, but it is expected that “bug fixes and other improvements” will be added, just like the second generation AirPods Pro.
The new firmware is installed wirelessly when AirPods are paired with an iPhone or iPad.
