Apple Logic Pro
Apple has started distribution of music production software = DTM “Logic Pro 10.7” with new functions including spatial audio mix. Existing users can update for free, and new users can purchase it from the Mac App Store for ¥ 24,000.

The most notable point in this update is that it is equipped with the tools necessary for creating songs that support spatial audio for the first time. Roughly speaking, “creators can extend their stereo projects to Dolby Atmos surround channels with new mixer and panner controls.”
The flow is to first convert the music data to a spatial audio mix and then export it as Dolby Atmos compatible music data compatible with Apple Music.
Logic Pro 10.7 comes with an original multitrack project for Lil Nas X’s hit “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which also includes the Dolby Atmos spatial audio mix.
By the way, the spatial audio that can be used with Dolby Atmos etc. also supports head tracking where you can hear the sound from the correct direction (or the position as the creator intended) even if you move your head.
When a spatial audio-enabled song is released on Apple Music, listeners can enjoy an immersive audio experience with spatial audio-enabled earphones / headphones (3rd generation AirPods / AirPods Pro / AirPods Max) and compatible devices.
In addition, the “Producer Pack” introduced in GarageBand in the summer of 2021 is also included in Logic Pro 10.7. Beats, loops and samples from the top hit makers in the music industry today, including Boys Noize, Mark Lettieri, Mark Ronson, Oak Felder and Sourection.

Logic Pro 10.7 is compatible with Apple’s proprietary processors “M1 Pro” and “M1 Max”. This new SoC will be launched for the first time in about a year from the “M1” (Mac, iPad Pro 2020) and can be selected when ordering the new MacBook Pro (14/16 inch). Supplementally, the number of transistors has increased by about twice compared to the previous generation, and the CPU speed has improved by up to 70% (see the detailed article here).
