‘Archeology sales worth Rs 67,000 crore’; Monson’s car confiscated, plaintiffs complain Monson Mavunkal | Money Fraud Case

Kochi: Archaeologist Monson Mavungal has been arrested by the Crime Branch. Rajeev, a native of Pala, has lodged a complaint alleging that he was a victim of fraud by paying him more than Rs 1.5 crore. The owner of Pandalam Sreewalsam Group, who had earlier lodged a complaint against him, has also come forward. The complaint stated that he was a victim of fraud worth Rs 6.27 crore.

Monson’s car was confiscated by the Sreewalsam Group after the money was not returned. Not only did the police not take action on the complaint lodged by Sreewalsam Group, but the accused also lodged a complaint against it with the DGP. The investigation team also reported to top officials on Monson’s complaint, which came before the Crime Branch.

After this, the people of Kozhikode lodged a complaint directly with the Chief Minister and now it has led to the arrest of Monson. The Crime Branch said the investigation into Monson’s complaint revealed that he had committed fraud. The complaint was lodged before the Crime Branch while the move was made to arrest him.

Rajeev, a native of Pala, believed that he had received Rs 67,000 crore from the sale of antiquities to the Sultan of Brunei and that it was stuck in HSBC Bank and that he could repay the higher amount if he paid for the legal action. The money was allegedly laundered by the Sreewalsam Group on the basis of documents showing that the money had reached HSBC Bank. It is believed the money came from the sale of antiquities to the UAE royal family and was frozen by FEMA law.

The court was required to pay for the proceedings and to pay the fine. He later promised to pay Rs 100 crore for business purposes. It is alleged that the police drowned in the complaint lodged by the Sreewalsam group. According to the complaint, high connections were used against him. Six persons from Kozhikode have come forward against the accused. According to the complainants, his film, political and police connections were often used to defraud him.

With the arrest of the accused, his high connections came to light. He has been seen posing with several dignitaries including Minister Ahmed Devar Kovil, KPCC President K Sudhakaran and KMRL MD Loknath Behra. Many filmmakers and journalists have come out with links to him.

The crime branch is collecting information about all those who are believed to be related to him. He was arrested by a team of investigators who visited the mafthi during the wedding of the accused ‘s daughter the other day. The next day, the investigation team will file a custody application for him. The court is also considering the bail application of the accused.
