Eight tourists were injured in the accident and were transported to a nearby hospital. None of the injured were reported to be life-threatening.
The fire department believes that the monorail, which was entering the platform, derailed and fell to a height of 4-5 meters. The fire department is working with the police to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
The Yokjiseom Monorail was scheduled to be closed from the 29th to the 9th of next month for track maintenance in the second half of the year, but an accident occurred one day before the closure.
