“Are you watching Putin?” U.S. Secretary of State Blincoln uploads photos of Kiiwu visit

[이데일리 장영은 기자] U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blincoln posted a photo of his visit to Kiiu, the capital of Ukraine, which is at war with Russia. It is interpreted to emphasize the US support for Ukraine and to inform the outside world that the visit has been made safely.

On the 25th (local time), Secretary Blincoln tweeted, “Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and I took a train from Poland to Kiiu,” and posted two photos. One shows Secretary Blincoln standing in the background of a train station, and the other shows a scene in his room, looking at papers, and preparing for a meeting.

“We saw people on the streets and we saw clear evidence that the battle in Kiiu had been won,” Blincoln said. I know I am getting it done,” he said.

In another tweet, he said, “The people of Ukraine are standing up and holding on strong. They are literally holding out with support from around the world.”

Secretary Blincoln and Defense Secretary Austin met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the day before (24th) in Kiiu. It is the highest-level visit by a U.S. government official since Russia invaded Ukraine. This appears to be to reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine while at the same time putting pressure on Russia to end the war quickly.

After the meeting, Secretary Blincoln and Austin announced that they would provide a total of $713 million in military aid to Ukraine and 15 allies and partners. Of this, $322 million (about 402 billion won) was allocated to Ukraine. In this regard, a senior U.S. State Department official added that during the summit, the U.S. promised more military and security assistance to Ukraine, including more than $300 million in overseas military funds and $165 million in ammunition supplies.

Russia is said to have bombed five Ukrainian train stations on the same day that the two ministers visited Kiiu. Ukrainian TV reported that five train stations in central and western Ukraine were hit by missiles this morning, and that the attack continued for an hour, resulting in multiple casualties.
