Arrested 6 on charges of fraud by opening NGO in Nachole

They were arrested from the BCIF office next to Sufyan Vidyaniketan and Private Home in Nachol Municipality’s Ward No. 7 Masterpara at around 9 pm on Tuesday. At this time, RAB seized some fake passports, seals, blank checks of various banks.

This information was given in a press conference at Chapainawabganj RAB camp on Wednesday.

The arrested persons are – Haji Md of Khalsi village of Fatepur Union of Nachol Upazila, the main owner of the fraudster and the manager of the NGO. Zakaria’s son. Ibrahim (37), branch manager Raihan Uddin (30), son of deceased Khalilur Rahman of Jahanabad village in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi, cashier Atiqur Rahman (25), son of Abdul Quddus of Gachpukur village in Nachol upazila, field worker Farhad Hossain (31), son of Israel Hossain of Muradpur village, field worker of Madhavpur village. Field worker Shah Alam (24), son of Abdul Hanif, field worker Rezaul Karim (24), son of Matiur Rahman of Khesba village.

According to the RAB, a fake NGO named Bangladesh Ideal Society Improvement Foundation (BCIF) was stealing crores of rupees by tempting the common people of the village of Nachol Upazila of Chapainawabganj. Even while disbursing loans, the NGO used to extort extra money by threatening to sue the customers for blank checks against it.

Chapainawabganj camp company commander Lt. Commander Ruh-Fi-Tahmin Toukir told Ajker newspaper that this gang organized a fake NGO named Bangladesh Ideal Society Improvement Foundation (BCIF) to steal money from the simple people of the village. Various clients in these NGOs are lured by the lure of higher profits, encouraging the poor to invest and borrow money. They even took blank checks from customers against giving loans and then blackmailed them to collect extra money. Later, he used to steal lakhs of rupees deposited by the customer. A case has been filed at Nachol police station against those arrested in this incident.

Nachol Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mintu Rahman told Ajker newspaper, “In the case filed by RAB, the accused have been sent to jail through the court.”
