Sriharikota: ISRO launches Oceansat-3 for ocean observation. The launch was at 11.56 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.
The Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota saw a new achievement by ISRO. A PSLV-C54 rocket carrying 8 small satellites along with Oceansat-3 was launched with the aim of weather forecasting, fisheries studies and coastal surveillance. Oceansat separated after reaching an altitude of 742 km less than 20 minutes after launch.
Satellites from Bhutan, Anand developed by Pixel, Thybolt of Polar Space and Astrocast from the United States entered orbit today. A long process is characteristic of this launch, which is ISRO’s last mission of the year.
