In January of this year, the ‘home run king’ Hank Aaron, a big star in MLB history, passed away at the age of 86. He is an Atlanta franchise star who played for the Atlanta Braves for 21 of his 23-year career as a big leaguer. Having hit 755 home runs in his career, he hit three home runs in the 1957 World Series (WS, 4 out of 7) and wore the championship ring. Naturally, his jersey number 44 was permanently removed from Atlanta.
Atlanta dedicated a champion trophy to their hero. Atlanta defeated the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 6 of the WS at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on the 3rd.
