[Sydney, 21st Reuters]-Australia reopened its borders on the 21st for those who have completed vaccination with the new coronavirus. Approximately two years have passed since immigration restrictions were implemented as a measure against corona, and the tourism industry is expected to recover due to the lifting of the restrictions.

Tourism Minister Taehan emphasized that Qantas flights are expected to attract more than 14,000 travelers this week, and that a very strong recovery in the tourism industry can be expected.

Australia has gradually relaxed corona regulations since November last year, allowing immigrants and international students with specialized skills to enter the country.

Over the past three weeks, the number of hospitalized patients due to Omicron mutant infection has been steadily declining, and the peak of infection appears to have passed.
