Melbourne: Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram out of Australian Open 2022 In the mixed doubles quarterfinals, Sania lost to Australian Jason Kubler-Jaimee Fourlis. Victory for the Aussies in straight sets. Score: 6-4, 7-6.

This is the last Australian Open of the 35 – year – old Sania’s career. Sania has previously won the Australian Open doubles title twice. Sania had earlier announced that she would retire at the end of the season.

Former Spanish champion Rafael Nadal has reached the semifinals of the Australian Open men’s singles. They defeated Canadian Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3. Rafa’s victory over Shapovalov’s return after winning the first two sets. Nadal is the sixth seed and Shapovalov is the 14th seed. Nadal, who won the Australian Open in 2009, is the only remaining former men’s champion.

In the second match, seventh seed Matteo Beretini will face 17th seed Gayle Monfils. The match starts at 2.45 pm. Both are aiming for their first semifinal at the Australian Open.
